Data Protection and Compliance Symposium

The Data Protection and Compliance Symposium is a comprehensive capacity building program designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively manage data protection and privacy compliance in today’s data driven environment. Through a blended approach of coursework, project work and experiential learning, participants will gain actionable insights into safeguarding personal data, minimizing regulatory risk and protecting organizational stakeholders.

The symposium is specifically tailored to the Kenyan context, with a strong emphasis on the Kenyan Data Protection Act, 2019 and its regulatory framework. To provide a global perspective, the program also draws comparisons with leading international standards, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Participants will learn how to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, organization wide policies, controls and processes that promote compliance, accountability, and a strong data protection culture.
